King Charlesheaded to Harlem during his andQueen Camilla's day in New York City.

The British monarch made a solo stop at an urban farm in Harlem, arriving around 2 p.m. local time on Wednesday, April 29, and was greeted by Tony Hillery, founder and chief executive of Harlem Grown, a nonprofit that operates urban farms to provide youth development programming. There, he was shown by Harlem Grown members and schoolchildren from Thurgood Marshall Lower Academy around the raised beds, greenhouse, tool shed, composting station, chicken coops, bee hives and more in the middle of a city block.

At one point, one of the students had a compliment for the King: "I like your hair," the child said.

“Do you? Good,” King Charles replied.

King Charles, 77, was enthusiastic about feeding chickens — after all, he tends to the animals back in the U.K., and his flock lives in acoop dubbed Cluckingham Palace. Hillery had to coax the monarch away from the chickens to continue the tour.

Hillery was left with a special gift: honey from bees at Highgrove House, one of the King’s residences.

After the farm visit, the King stopped to shake a few hands of onlookers waiting behind a barricade.

“I’m sure I’m ruining your day,” the King said, referencing the street closure that was part of the security measures surrounding the monarch's visit.

While King Charles was in Harlem,Queen Camillahad herown solo event. The Queen, 78, celebrated the U.S. and the U.K.'s shared love of literature and her charity,The Queen's Reading Room, at the New York Public Library, and guests included Sarah Jessica Parker, Jenna Bush Hager, Anna Wintour and more.

King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived in New York City on Wednesday morning after spending two days in Washington, D.C., to kick off their state visit. Yankees set for Elmer Rodríguez's big league pitching debut as roster shuffling continues

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Right-hander Elmer Rodríguez, one of the Yankees' top prospects, is set for his major league debut Wednesday as New York tweaks the bottom of the rotation while awaiting the return of Carlos Rodón.

Rodríguez was already in the Yankees clubhouse Tuesday, telling the story of the late-night summons at a hotel informing him that he was headed to Texas with a plan to start the finale of a three-game series against the Rangers.

The Yankees have been shuffling their roster, but still have a move to make to clear space for the 22-year-old who pitched for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic last month.

Infielder Max Schuemann was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesdayin place of Giancarlo Stanton, who went on the 10-day injured list after straining his right calf Friday in Houston.

Rodríguez is taking right-hander Luis Gil's spot in the rotation after Gil was sent to Triple-A following a rough start in a7-4 loss to the Astros.

The Yankees filled Gil's place on the roster with outfielder Jasson Domínguez, who was in the lineup against the Rangers as the designated hitter for the second consecutive game Tuesday night.

Manager Aaron Boone declined to say what roster move was coming to make room for Rodríguez, who had a 1.27 ERA in four Triple-A starts this year after climbing from Class A to Triple-A last season.

“He’s impressive,” Boone said. “I’ve really been impressed with a lot of our young guys that are kind of knocking on the door, Elmer included in that, about to be big leaguers, feel like they have a chance to be longtime big leaguers. As well as being a talented pitcher, he seems to have a really good way and makeup about him that should serve him well.”

Rodríguez pitched three scoreless innings in his only WBC appearance for his native Puerto Rico.

“It was a great experience to pitch there and obviously close to the same thing you're going to have here in the bigs,” said Rodríguez, who said his family was in transit to see him face 15-year veteran Nathan Eovaldi of the Rangers. “I feel like it just prepared me more and gave me a little bit of getting my feet wet.”

Boone estimated Rodríguez would get at least two starts as the Yankees anticipate the return of Rodón, the left-hander awaiting his season debut coming off left elbow surgery in October.Rodón made his first rehab startlast week.

The Yankees decided to put Rodríguez in front of the other starters because it was close to his scheduled Tuesday start in Triple-A. New York is off Thursday, which means right-hander Will Warren is the likely starter Friday night at home against Baltimore.

Boone has said he is hopeful Stanton will be ready to come off the IL as soon as he's eligible, but won't commit to a timetable. Neither will the 36-year-old slugger who has dealt with similar issues throughout his career.

“I really don’t have much for you guys,” Stanton said Tuesday. “I’ve got to move around. It’s good that it’s not a high grade, but at the same time, you’ve got to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

Christopher Nolan's films have a penchant for both impressive storytelling and long runtimes.

However, the famed director is assuring audiences his latest project,The Odyssey, will not surpass the three-hour runtime of his Oscar-winning filmOppenheimer. Speaking with theAssociated Press, Nolan said the highly anticipated summer flick is "an epic film, as the subject matter demands."

As for how longTheOdysseywill keep audiences in their seats, Nolan said "it is shorter" than his biographical thriller starringCillian Murphyas the physicist behind the first atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer.

The film is also the first Hollywood feature to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras, and physical limitations of IMAX projectors restrict films to being no more than 180 minutes (3 hours).

“There’s a massive amount of pressure,” Nolan told the AP about the celebrity-filled film. "Anyone taking onThe Odysseyis taking on the hopes and dreams of people for epic movies everywhere and that comes with a huge responsibility.”

The Odysseyis Nolan's adaptation of Homer's ancient Greek epic poem of the same name. It chronicles Odysseus' perilous 10-year journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War.

Portland rises to the top

In a match between the league's top two teams at Providence Park in Portland, the Thorns snapped San Diego's five-game winning streak to climb to the top of the standings.

Marie Muller scored her first career NWSL goal in the 10th minute to put the Thorns on the board. Sophia Wilson extended the lead in the 64th, scoring her second goal of the season.

It was the second time these two teams met this season. San Diego won the first battle last month 3-1.

Scoring woes over for Gotham

Despite just scoring two goals before the international break earlier this month, Gotham FC’s scoring woes appear to be over.

In their first two games back, they scored five goals defeating Bay FC 3-0 at home and then got two more goals in the shut out of the Stars on the road.

Jordynn Dudley scored in the first minute of the match after Jaedyn Shaw’s cross ran through the back line of the Stars' defense. It was the second-fastest goal in club history.

In the 10th minute, Rose Lavelle was left wide open and volleyed a shot past Alyssa Naeher.

Katie Atkinson, who played in the Stars’ previous two matches, was inactive with a thigh injury.

Rodman scores, Andi Sullivan returns to the pitch

Trinity Rodman scored her 30th career goal in the 15th minute with a cross-body volley strike from the middle of the penalty box at Audi Field in Washington.

Andi Sullivan came on in the 63rd minute after a long absence. She tore her ACL at the end of the 2024 season and was on maternity leave in 2025.

The Spirit have shut out four straight opponents, winning three and drawing against Denver 0-0.
