Sawe smashed the men’s world record by 65 seconds in winning the London Marathon in 1 hour, 59 minutes and 30 seconds.

Here's a list of other notable milestones in world athletics and where the records stand now:

100 meters

U.S. sprinter Jim Hines became the first man to officially break the 10-second barrier in the 100 meters in 1968.

The current world record in the 100 belongs to Usain Bolt, whose time of 9.58 seconds came in 2009.

200 meters

American runner Tommie Smithwas the first man to break 20 seconds in 1968, with a time of 19.83 seconds.

Bolt has the current record with 19.19 seconds, also from 2009.

In between, Michael Johnson ran 19.32 at the Atlanta Games in 1996. Noah Lyles ran 19.31 in 2022 to take the iconic U.S. record from Johnson.

400 meters

Czech runner Jarmila Kratochvilova became the first woman to break 48 seconds in the 400 meters (47.99) in 1983. Two years later, East Germany's Marita Koch bettered that with a run of 47.60 that is still the world record.

Last year, America's Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone became the first woman since the Eastern Bloc era tocrack 48 when she ran 47.78 at world championships.

McLaughlin-Levrone, who has lowered the record in the 400 hurdles by more than 2 seconds to 50.37 since 2021, has put the 50-second mark in that event in her sights.

Mile

Britain's Roger Bannister became the first person torun the mile in under four minutesin 1954.

The then-Oxford University medical student overtook the second of his pacemakers on the final lap of the race on Oxford’s Iffley Road track to finish in 3 minutes, 59.4 seconds.

Since then, more than 1,000 athletes have run the mile in under four minutes, according to World Athletics. The current record dates to 1999: 3:43.13 by Morocco's Hicham El Guerrouj.

Long jump

One of the most amazing world records in track and field history came in 1968, when Bob Beamon jumped 8.90 meters (29 feet, 2 1/4 inches) at the Mexico City Olympics.

That mark has been broken once — in 1991 by Mike Powell, whose jump of 8.95 meters (29 feet, 4 1/4 inches) is among the oldest in the athletics record book.

Harper's Bazaar Kylie Jenner

Welcome to the cat club,Kylie Jenner! The star, who introduced her new feline friend to the world last fall, just shared anInstagram dumpwith the sweet little kitty (presumably a Scottish Fold, for those looking into the breed). Her snuggly furry companion joined along for a pool-side makeup routine, where the Kylie Cosmetics founder blushed her cheeks and lined her lips in a one-piece swimsuit from 2010.

First seen on Gucci’s Spring 2010 runway, the gray bodysuit was designed by creative director Frida Giannini as part of the futuristic sporty collection that brought the house into the new decade.

Strapless with a cut-out silhouette and open back, the swimsuit may not have been one of Jenner’s classic bikinis, but it was just as itty bitty as ever. Strings of fabric from each corner met in the middle with sharp silver hardware and intricate knotting, making for a slashed look that felt particularly fitting for a photoshoot with her kitten. (Anyone who has spent time with a cat will know that despite their cuddly looks, they can do some serious damage with their claws).

“Me + my lip liner + and my kitty,” Jenner captioned the post, tagging her beauty brand. Her followers were quick to ask which shade the lip liner was, and in the comments, she confirmed it was herChill Brown offering. As for her hair, the star let her long dark locks fall in effortless waves down to her waist for a lived-in feel that gave a nice contrast to the picture-perfect glam.

The Secret Service and other authorities swarmedthe banquet hallat the Washington Hilton as guests ducked under tables by the hundreds. “Out of the way, sir!” someone yelled. Others yelled to duck.

Here's the Latest:

Trump says the shooter has been apprehended

Trump said that a “shooter has been apprehended” in a post to Truth Social about 30 minutes following a security incident at the White House correspondents’ dinner.

Both Trump and Vice President JD Vance were uninjured in the incident.

Most WHCD attendees are closed inside the ballroom and cannot leave

Dinner organizers said there will be an “announcement shortly, we will be resuming shortly” from the stage. Most attendees are closed inside the ballroom and can’t leave.

A block from the White House, party-goers headed to the Renwick Museum were instead gathered at police tape as the streets and sidewalks were blocked off. Police cars tore up and down the block, sirens blaring. A helicopter buzzed overhead.

n hotel commonly stays open to public, while security is focused on ballroom

Generally, the Hilton hotel, where the dinner has taken place for years, remains open to regular guests during the White House Correspondents Dinner. It has typically been focused on the ballroom — rather than the hotel at large — with little screening for people not entering the dinner itself.

In past years, that has created openings for disruptions in the lobby and other public spaces, including protests in which security moved to remove guests who unfurled banners or staged demonstrations.

Some in the crowd reported hearing what they believed to be 5 to 8 shots fired

The banquet hall, where hundreds of prominent journalists, celebrities and national leaders were awaiting Trump’s speech, was immediately evacuated. Members of the National Guard took up position inside the building as people were allowed to leave but not reenter. Security outside was also extremely tight.

It was not immediately clear what happened. A law enforcement official confirmed there was a shooter but no further details were immediately available.

US Attorney Jeanine Pirro says Secret Service in charge of building, DC mayor in route

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro posted a short video from the hotel after the incident, saying, “I have been taken out of the ballroom after the sound of the shots fired. The Secret Service is now in charge of this building, this hotel. I just spoke to Mayor Muriel Bowser. She is on her way, and (Police) Chief Jeffery Carroll is on his way. He will be in charge as soon as he gets here.”
