Just a matter of weeks after a dramatic Gold Cup race brought the prestigious Cheltenham Festival to a close, the biggest horse racing event of the year will return. The Grand National is one of the most eagerly-anticipated events in the sporting calendar, with around 150,000 fans set to be in attendance. Richmond and the AFL are blasted by Channel 7 stars over Noah Balta's ban - as the Tigers star faces possible jail time for assault: 'You can't play him'


Caroline Wilson and Craig Hutchison have torn into Richmond and the AFL after it was announced that Noah Balta would be allowed to return to play footy. The 25-year-old defender pleaded guilty to assault of a man outside Mulwala Water Ski Club and is set to be sentenced on April 22 for the incident which took place in December 2024. Balta was suspended by Richmond for four games this season, with the AFL subsequently approving the sanction.

Rio Ferdinand has provided a window into the continued camaraderie between former Manchester United players in an interview with Nani. The former centre-back welcomed his old team-mate on his Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast and opened up on the hilarity that endures between stars of the Sir Alex Ferguson era. Among them include the likes of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young. Ahead of his conversion with the former tricky winger, Ferdinand asked for questions for Nani in the WhatsApp group they all share and he kicked off his post with the iconic image of the Portuguese crying during a 2011 clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

Manchester United's part-owners Ineos have reached a settlement agreement with New Zealand Rugby (NZR) over their sponsorship dispute. The global chemical company, fronted by British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, signed a multi-million pound deal with NZR in 2021 that was due to run until 2027. However, they informed NZR in January that they were planning to end their partnership almost three years early as part of the company's cost-cutting measures.
